Abstract
In modern conditions, the main measures to combat drug trafficking fall within the internal competence of each individual state. However, the use of only domestic measures to counter this offense is not always sufficient.
Cooperation between states is becoming increasingly important in the fight against this crime and the elimination of its social consequences. The need for such interaction was recognized at the beginning of the 20th century, and only after the Second World War certain directions and forms of international cooperation in combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances emerged.
