Abstract
This article explores the linguistic and cultural characteristics of aphorisms in Uzbek and English languages. In Uzbek, aphorisms often exhibit a nationalistic tone, influenced by the thoughts and opinions of renowned figures and grounded in national values, literature, and historical events. Conversely, English aphorisms tend to possess universal characteristics, offering advice, ideas, and meanings relevant to diverse cultures worldwide.
